What is my Tattooed deposit for?

Your deposit reserves your slot and is deducted from the final price paid at the studio. It protects the artist if you do not show up without good cause.

The deposit reserves your slot with the artist assigned to you, and it is deducted from the final price of the session, which you pay directly at the studio. It also protects the professional. If you do not show up without good cause, the artist keeps the deposit.

A deposit is always required for an appointment assigned by Tattooed. If you book directly on an artist's booking page, nothing is requested when you submit the request. The artist accepts it and may send you a quote that includes a deposit calculated from the quoted price. You then pay it in the app, and it is also deducted from the final price.

How the amount is set

The amount is calculated automatically based on the estimated duration of your project and the hourly rate of the artist you select from the proposals. You never enter this amount yourself. Tattooed determines it as soon as you make your choice and displays it before you pay anything.

What happens to it next

Once paid, the deposit is deducted from the total price of the service you will pay the artist on the day of the session. It is not an additional amount on top of the price of the tattoo. It is an advance toward that price.

The deposit paid is deducted from the balance due at the studio.

If you cannot make it

If you cannot attend the appointment, you can reschedule with the same artist in the app up to a certain cutoff before the scheduled time. After that cutoff, the date is fixed, and you lose the deposit if you do not attend, unless you have a genuine, documented reason. A doctor's note, hospitalization, accident, or death can support a dispute opened within the allowed period after the appointment. An administrator then decides whether all or part of the deposit should be returned to you.

If the artist does not show up

You receive a full refund, and Tattooed takes no commission from it because the service was not provided.

What the deposit is not

It is not an entry fee for the app or a way to unlock a digital feature. It pays exclusively for the tattoo service provided in person. The displayed duration range and amount remain estimates. The artist determines the actual duration and final price of the session at the appointment.
