Can I request a touch-up after my session?
Request a touch-up on your artist's booking page or through messaging, which stays open for 30 days after your session. Your artist decides what happens next.
Yes. You can do it in two ways: on your artist's booking page, or by messaging them in the app. A touch-up never goes back through the automatic artist search. It always returns to the artist who tattooed you.
A touch-up is always handled directly between you and your artist, regardless of how the first session was booked. Tattooed does not get involved or take any fee from it.
On the artist's booking page
This is the most direct option. On your artist's booking page, choose "A touch-up on a tattoo you did for me", select one of the slots they have opened, and describe what needs redoing. The description is required, not merely optional. It lets the artist understand what the request is about before responding.
Your request reaches the artist like any other appointment request. They accept or decline it and decide whether the touch-up is free or charged.
Through messaging
Once your deposit is paid, a conversation with your artist opens in the app. You can continue writing in it for 30 days after your session date, covering the period when a touch-up is normally discussed. If an appointment is canceled, the same conversation remains open for writing for the same number of days.

This is the right place if you have a question before requesting a slot, or if your artist asks for a photo so they can assess the tattoo.
After those 30 days
The conversation does not disappear. You can still view it, but you can no longer write in it. The booking page remains open, so after this period you make the request there.
When to request it
A tattoo is considered healed after four to six weeks. Before then, the skin is still peeling, and neither you nor your artist can see what the final render will really look like. Nothing prevents you from making the request earlier. Just expect the artist to suggest looking at it together first.
What Tattooed does not automate here
A touch-up is never offered through automatic artist assignment. It does not search for anyone and always returns to the artist who did the tattoo. No one schedules it for you either. Your artist accepts the slot you requested.
How the artist organizes it
The artist marks this appointment as a touch-up in their professional calendar, separately from a first session. This changes the preparation they expect and the amount of time they allow for it.
If the touch-up is charged
A touch-up is often free, but if your artist chooses to charge for it, they send you a payment link by email or text message. This payment does not use the in-app payment window used for the deposit. The link opens a secure payment page outside the app, in your name and for the amount the artist has set. Replying to the email writes directly to your artist.
