What happens if I am a minor on the day of my session?

A minor cannot sign a consent form online. French law requires their legal representative to sign it on paper in the artist's presence.

You cannot sign your consent form online in the app. French law requires your legal representative to sign it on paper in the artist's presence.

This is a legal rule, not one specific to a booking path. It applies in the same way whether Tattooed assigned your appointment or you booked directly with an artist.

How minor status is determined

Tattooed compares your date of birth with the date of your appointment, not the date when you fill out the form. Your age on the day of the session is what matters. If you turn eighteen between filling out the form and the appointment, your age on the appointment date determines what happens.

What the app displays

As soon as your date of birth shows that you are a minor, the online form stops before the health questions. There is no point in answering them because an electronic signature is not possible in any case. The app directs you to a document to print, the parental authorization form, which your legal representative must sign in person on the day of the session.

You can download this document yourself from the link you received, without waiting for your artist to give it to you. A dedicated button opens it directly. Your artist also has their own copy in the pro dashboard in case you arrive without having printed it.

Registration on Tattooed itself

Creating an account in the app requires you to state that you are eighteen or older. Tattooed is rated 18+ in both app stores, and tattooing minors is prohibited in France under Article R. 1311-11 of the French Public Health Code.

Why there is no digital workaround

The law requires the legal representative to be physically present when signing. An electronic click, even with a checked box, cannot replace that presence. Accepting an online signature in this case would create a document that looks like parental authorization without actually being one, which is worse than having no document at all.
