Can I request another artist after being assigned one?

After payment, you can change artists only after the appointment time if the session did not start, and only once per project.

Once you have paid the deposit, no, not simply because you prefer someone else. You can change artists only after the scheduled appointment time, if the session clearly did not take place, and only once per project.

This option is part of the assignment process: Tattooed must have assigned an artist to you and be holding your deposit. If you chose the artist yourself and booked through their page, there is no assignment to change. You are free to contact someone else.

A different rule applies before payment

Until the appointment is paid for, you can still choose either of the other two artists among the three selected by the algorithm. This is different from the option described here. See Why does Tattooed suggest three artists instead of one?.

The three conditions after payment

  • The scheduled appointment time must have passed. This is not a right of withdrawal. Changing your mind the day before would cancel a paid commitment without holding anyone accountable.
  • The session must not have started. Once the work has begun, you can no longer change artists.
  • You must not have already used your reassignment for this project. It is granted only once.

What happens to your deposit

The deposit is not refunded, and you are not charged a second time. The deposit you already paid is applied to the new appointment for the same amount, even if the new artist charges a different hourly rate. The payout date for the artist is recalculated based on the new session.

If no one else is available

Your project is placed on hold while a new artist is found. Your deposit remains held for this project and is not paid out to anyone until a new assignment is made.

What this rule does not cover

It does not apply if you simply change your mind before your appointment, or if your artist did not show up and you want a refund before seeking reassignment. See What happens if my artist does not show up?.
