Why can't I freely choose my tattoo artist?
Tattooed ranks available artists and shows you three, with the best match first. You choose among them, not from the entire directory.

This process is designed to connect you with an artist you do not already know. If you already have someone in mind, ask them for their booking link. It takes you directly to their calendar, with no ranking or suggestions in between and no deposit due when you submit the request.
How the three suggestions are selected
After you approve your design and enter your availability, Tattooed compares this information with the actual calendars of artists near you. The ranking considers factors including distance, the style of the approved design, subscription status, and each artist's reliability. You see the three highest-ranked artists. The first is featured because the algorithm identifies that artist as the best match across all these criteria, while the other two remain available alongside that artist.
No rating, score, or compatibility percentage appears on the listings. You see three artists, not a numerical ranking.
Choosing another of the three
You can choose either of the other two suggested artists instead of the first. Tattooed checks that artist's calendar again when you make your choice. If the time originally shown is still available, it stays the same. Otherwise, Tattooed suggests that artist's next available time slot.
The limits of this choice
You cannot select an artist outside the three chosen for you or browse all verified artists in your area to compare more portfolios. This choice is available only until you pay for your appointment. Once the deposit is paid, the selection is closed. If none of the three works for you at that point, your only option is to change the availability you entered and start a new search, which changes the full set of artists available to you.
After the appointment is confirmed
Once an appointment is confirmed, you can still change artists in one specific situation: after the scheduled session time, as long as the work has not started, and only up to the number of times set by the platform. This is not a way to choose freely in advance. It is a limited remedy for an appointment that clearly did not take place as planned.
