What happens if a bank transfer fails on Tattooed?
Nothing is lost. If your bank rejects the transfer, the money stays in your Tattooed wallet. Update your bank details, then request it again.
Nothing is lost. If your bank rejects the transfer you requested to your account, for example because of an incorrect IBAN, the money remains in your Tattooed wallet. Update your bank details, then request the transfer again.
What this specifically refers to
This article covers the transfer you request yourself from your wallet to your bank. This is different from the automatic credit to your wallet after a session. If that credit fails, Tattooed retries it automatically, with no action required from you.
In both cases, this only concerns money added to your wallet: your share of deposits paid through the platform and payment links your clients have paid. A failed transfer never affects payments you collect at the studio because they never passed through Tattooed. See [What is the difference between a client brought to you by Tattooed and a client who is already yours?](/en/help/artist/requests-and-assignment/referred-vs-direct-clients).
What Tattooed does not do
Tattooed does not automatically retry the transfer to the same rejected IBAN. Repeatedly sending the request to incorrect bank details would not solve anything. The rejected transfer appears in your history with the reason for the failure as soon as we receive it.
The restriction that allows only one transfer at a time is lifted as soon as the failure is recorded. You do not have to wait any longer before requesting another one.
Where to update your bank details
You update your bank details in the hosted professional verification form, never in a Tattooed field. We do not hold your IBAN. Our payment provider holds it for us.
Request another transfer after updating your details
Once you have updated your bank details, request the transfer again from /pro, exactly as you did the first time. It covers your full available balance, with no amount to enter. The previous rejected transfer no longer blocks the button once its failure has been recorded.
If the transfer remains stuck without an explanation
A transfer that never receives a clear response from our provider, rather than a definite rejection, remains shown as in progress and is not marked as failed until the cause is established. It is better to show this pending status than to incorrectly report a failure.
