How do I delete my account and photos from Tattooed?
Account deletion is available in the app. It anonymizes your account and deletes your photos. Unapproved projects are also deleted automatically.
You can delete your account from the app settings. This anonymizes your account and deletes the associated photos from Tattooed's storage.
This also applies to an account you did not create yourself: booking on an artist's appointment page opens an account using your email address, which you can access through "forgot password". You delete it in exactly the same way.
What deletion does
Once you request deletion, your account is anonymized. The personal data that identifies you is detached from your history. The photos you uploaded, whether a photo of the area to be tattooed or generated renders, are deleted from storage. You start this action directly in the app without having to contact support, as required by app stores for any account that can be created online.
What Tattooed still keeps, and why
Some items related to a completed appointment or a paid deposit may need to be kept after account deletion, particularly for accounting purposes and for the legally required retention period for consent forms, if you signed one. This is not a hidden exception. It is the same principle that applies to any tax or medical document, which follows its own retention rules independently of your app account.
What happens to a project you never completed
If you stop using Tattooed, your projects are also subject to automatic retention rules unrelated to voluntary account deletion. An abandoned or never approved project is deleted after a certain period. An approved project that never led to an appointment is deleted after a longer period. A project that led to a completed appointment is kept even longer, while the session record remains useful to both you and the artist.
Who can see your project photos
While your account exists, the photo of the area to be tattooed and the generated renders are visible only to you and, once an appointment is confirmed, to the artist assigned to you through the stencil generated when the design is approved. They are never made public simply because they were created. Only an explicit action on your part, such as giving permission on the consent form to publish a photo of the finished tattoo, can make content visible outside this setting.
Can it be undone?
Account deletion is permanent once anonymization is complete. There is no way to restore a deleted account or recover photos that have already been deleted.
