What happens if my card is declined on Tattooed?
Your benefits stay active during a grace period so you can update your payment. After that, your account automatically returns to the Free plan.
Your benefits stay active during a grace period, giving you time to update your payment. Nothing is turned off after the first failed charge.
Even after the grace period ends, returning to the Free plan does not close your booking page. Your own clients can continue to book and pay you directly. What changes is your priority for requests brought to you by Tattooed.
How the grace period is calculated
The grace period starts on the date of the first declined charge, not your subscription date. If the payment processor makes further attempts and they are also declined, they do not move this start date. The grace period does not restart with each attempt. Its end date is fixed as soon as the first issue occurs.
What you see in your dashboard
An alert badge appears in your pro dashboard with the number of days remaining in the grace period, next to your usual subscription status.
Updating your card
In "Settings", then "Payment methods", save a new card with "Add a card". You enter the details through the secure form provided by Stripe, our payment provider. Tattooed never receives your card number.
What you keep during the grace period
All the benefits of your tier remain available during the grace period, exactly as they are with a current subscription. Your assignment priority, exclusive tools, and portfolio limit stay unchanged.
If you update your payment, or if you do not
A successful payment during the grace period resolves the issue without you losing anything, and the grace period start date is cleared. If the deadline passes without payment, your account returns to the Free plan. The tier you subscribed to stays on record, but it no longer applies while no subscription covers it.
Resubscribing later
After your account returns to the Free plan, resubscribing works like a new subscription and requires a card. It does not restart automatically after the grace period expires.
