Tattoo artist
What is a Tattooed affiliate, and how is it different from an artist referral?
Affiliates are external partners paid cash commissions. Artist referrals earn subscription months. The two statuses cannot be combined.
An affiliate is an external partner, such as a store, studio, or business referrer, that earns money for clients or tattoo artists they bring to Tattooed. Artist referrals only involve two tattoo artists and are rewarded with months of a premium subscription, never money. The two programs cannot be combined, and the same account can never hold both statuses.
A note on terminology: a client "referred" by an affiliate is a client who came through the Tattooed flow and therefore pays a deposit. An affiliate is never paid for clients who are already yours because Tattooed does not collect a deposit from them.
What an affiliate earns
An affiliate account belongs to a legal entity and includes a company name, SIRET, and billing address. Registration is available at /affilie/inscription, and the account is active immediately.
Depending on whom they referred, the affiliate receives:
- 10% of the deposits paid by a client they referred, with any Tattooed artist;
- 10% of the subscription payments made by an artist they referred, plus 10% of the deposits that artist collects, regardless of the client.
These commissions are limited to twelve months from the date of linking and are deducted from Tattooed's share, never from the artist's or client's share. Affiliates can track them in a dedicated dashboard as an earnings statement and invoice.
What a referring tattoo artist earns
Artist referrals do not earn money. They earn one month of Tattooed Premium, credited automatically when the referred artist has a complete and verified professional profile. No SIRET or invoicing is required. It is simply a link shared between two tattoo artist accounts.
Why the two can never be combined
A tattoo artist cannot open an affiliate account, and an affiliate cannot open a professional tattoo artist account. Each registration blocks the other, regardless of which path is used. An artist referred by a colleague therefore does not become a paid affiliate simply because of that referral. Similarly, an affiliate who refers an artist never receives a month of Premium, only a cash commission on that artist's subscription payments.
Each deposit can carry only one affiliate commission. If the client and artist each have their own affiliate, only the client's affiliate is paid on that deposit.
